Service Rates

Payless computers services nearly all brands of laptop and desktop PCs; however, we not not work on Mac computers. For details about pricing and services available, please review the following list. Please note that there is a minimum labor charge of $15 when installing hardware or drivers.

$15 - Physical System Cleaning

Air-dust system (90 PSI)
Visually inspect system: broken clips, leaking caps, proper ventilation
Wipe down case exterior

$30 - Basic Diagnostic

Test power supply, power on test, voltages and fans
Air-dust system (90 PSI), check and clean fans and heat sinks
Visually inspect system: broken clips, leaking caps, bent pins, cabling issues
Run a complete hardware diagnostic on system
Check BIOS and BIOS battery

$70 - Virus Removal includes Basic Diagnostic, plus:

Remove viruses, spyware, malware, trojans, erros and other problems
Verify and update insallation of anti-virus, anti-malware and firewall software
(we can use your software or a free Payless Computers version)
Install all current Windows updates and service packs
Due to the malicious nature of viruses, we cannot guarantee 100% removal

$60 - Full Optomize includes Basic Diagnostic, plus:

Customize and tweak Windows performance options
Recommend computer performance and speed upgrades
Install all current Windows updates and service packs
Verify and update BIOS and any neeeded system device drivers
Perform hard drive scan and decompression, temp files clean-up, disk defrag
Install Open Office, audio, multi-media, graphics suites, extra internet software

$100 - Wipe & Reload includes Basic Diagnostic, plus:

DBAN single-pass zero out on 1 hard drive (Want added security? 3 pass $10 extra, 7 pass $20 extra)
Install any current supported Windows OS (Linux, duel boots and Legacy OS extra)
Install all drives, Windows updates and service packs
Install an anti-virus, anti-malware and firewall package you own or a free Payless Computers version
Customize and tweak Windows performance options
Add $30 - Back up all data from one hard drive

Home On-site Tech Work by appointment only
(Most times avaialble, even late-night hours)

$60 per hour, minimum charge $90 plus parts
Distance charge beyond 5 miles

Business On-site Tech Work by appointment only

$80 per hour, minimum charge $100 plus parts

$5 - Replacement Windows CD (per disk)
$15 - Foreign language verions (per disk)

Forgot your password?
$20 - Reset password when installing hardware or drivers

Need media copies?
$4 - Make a copy of any 3.5" floppy disk you own
$5 - Make a copy of any CD you own
$6 - Make a copy of any 4.7GB DVD you own
$9 - Make a copy of any 8.5GB DL DVD you own
